Reversed tent stitch
This version of tent stitch consists of alternate vertical rows of tent stitch (sloping bottom left to top right /) and a mirror image of tent stitch which slopes in the opposite direction (bottom right to top left \). Like most canvaswork stitches it can be worked horizontally as well as vertically.

N.B. if a composite stitch includes the use of a reversed tent stitch, it most likely means a single stitch which slopes bottom right to top left over a single intersection.

Method
Work a standard continental tent stitch diagonally over one intersection, bottom left to top right.
Working vertically down, continue a column of tent stitches.
Working back up the adjacent column
with a mirror image tent stitch (sloping from top left to bottom right).
Continue working rows up and down to fill the space.
Reverse tent stitch can also be worked horizontally.

Identifying Reversed tent stitch
