Interlacing insertion stitch

This stitch is worked across a void in the fabric: it consists of a line of double herringbone stitch which is embellished with intricate interlacing.  It is important to check the sequence of the crossed part of the double herringbone stitch is correct so that this interlacing can be worked accurately.
