Diamond trellis (pattern)

This blackwork pattern consists of small diamonds inside a vertical trellis.
Method
1
Work a line of horizontal back stitches across the design area: each stitch should be over four threads.
2
Leave a gap of four fabric threads and work additional horizontal lines.
3
Fill the design area with vertical back stitches over four threads. Each stitch should sit over the centre of the initial horizontal thread to form a cross.
4
Alternate crosses should be surrounded by a diamond: work alternate straight and back stitches over two intersections.
5
Continue working vertically up and down to complete the pattern.
